Children's Programs

The Children's Story Hour is open to children who haven't yet entered first grade. It is held Wednesday mornings from 10:45 until 11:30 in the Children's Library. From time to time, because of special events at the Library, this program may be postponed. Please check the News page to see if there are updates for this week. Participating children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required, except during the weeks of Summer Reading Club.

The Summer Reading Club is open to children entering Kindergarten through grade four. It lasts for six weeks, starting in late June, and meets every Tuesday morning. This group features paid performers, crafts, and fun activities with books, all highlighting a special summer-long theme. Registration is required. Further details will be available at registration. Please keep a sharp eye on the News page to find out when registration starts; some age groups fill up very quickly.

The Young Writers' Reading Club is a summer reading program for those entering grades five and six. Some children entering grade four may also choose this club. Registration is required, exactly as for the Summer Reading Club.

The Songwriters Club is a summer creativity program for those entering grades five and six. Some children entering grade four may also choose this club. Registration is required, exactly as for the Summer Reading Club.
