Community Read-A-Thon Benefits Library for 6th Year

The 6th Annual Community Read-A-Thon will take place January 18-27, 2019.  The event is a fundraiser for the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury and celebrates and fosters a love of reading.  The Read-A-Thon is a Lambertville-New Hope Winter Festival activity.

To participate in the Read-A-Thon, readers get a log from the library.  They solicit contributions from sponsors for minutes read or overall performance. The sponsors’ donations collected by the participants will benefit the whole community because those donations go directly to the operation of the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury.

Area school children get especially involved in the event.  Elementary school students kick off the program with a lighthearted Pajama Day at school. The program ends with a celebratory lunch at the school when the winners are announced.

All participants who turn in a reading log will receive a participation prize.

The Community Read-A-Thon is open to everyone, preschoolers to seniors.  To download a reading log and additional information click here.
