Tails & Tales @ The Library
Get ready for a wild summer at the library! The Free Library of New Hope and Solebury will be offering our summer reading program virtually, giving readers of all ages an easy way to keep track of their summer reading on line and earn prizes. It’s easy:
- Readers of all ages can visit our page on Beanstack
- Log in the number of minutes you read. Be sure to come in and collect a small prize when you earn a badge!
- Don’t forget to check our weekly online calendar of events for our virtual programming.
Plus three lucky winners will be selected from each age group (preschool, school age, teen and adult) to win gift cards and possibly a Kindle Fire.
SUMMER READING 2021 SPECIAL EVENTS
Registration for all events opens June 19. All programs are virtual unless otherwise noted.
June 24, July 1, and July 8 at 10:30am Music Play Patrol Using our imaginations and electronic instruments, we journey through stories about princesses, giants, heroes, and more! Each session will feature different stories. On Zoom. Please register for each program separately.
July 9 at 10:30am Let’s Draw Impossible Animals A one-hour beginner cartooning workshop. On Zoom.
July 13 at 3pm Artventure Workshop. Ms. Anita Martino will lead this fun virtual art class. You will create a pencil drawing of a beautiful Horse. On Zoom.
July 15 at 10:30am Stories of Sweden’s Wild Animals We will explore the world of Swedish fauna, from Dala horses and enchanted creatures to the national animal: the Moose! Craft kits will be available to pick up at the library prior to the program. On Zoom.
July 22 at 10:30am Mad Science of NJ: Tails and Tales. Learn how different animals move, see, and evade predators. On Zoom.
July 27 at 3pm Artventure Workshop. Ms. Anita Martino will lead this fun virtual art class. You will create a pencil drawing of a beautiful TIGER. On Zoom.
July 29 at 10:30am Mad Science of NJ: Spin, Pop, Zoom! Spectacular chemistry experiments spark children’s curiosity and highlight the very best of what Mad Science has to offer. This program will include the following: Color-changing water; the Famous, Flaming Didgeridoo; the Fantastic Flying Foam Factory; and the awesome “Swoosh, Whoosh, Ahhhh” experiments. On Zoom.
August 5 at 6:30pm Grand SRP Finale: The Andrew Show. Hold on to your hats and prepare to be dazzled as the amazing Andrew Schraff astounds us with feats of balance, juggling and jokes. Fun for all ages. This will be an in-person event to be held outdoors. Location TBA.
