Oh, what a night!
On Friday evening, the New Hope-Solebury High School auditorium was a-buzz with excitement as 20 teams of three swarmed on in to vie for the top honors at our Community Spelling Bee! At the end of the evening it was The Bookworms (Lisa Keppeler, Belinda Ash and Bob Brodrecht) correctly spelling the word “shillelagh” that earned them a stellar place in our Spelling Bee history.
Other teams that earned honorable mention were Team Beezamis (June, Jim and Phillip Nezamis), whose fabulous homemade costumes earned them Best Costume honors and Bari/Basso Cordiani (Jason Gersh, Eric Muth and Jim Peters) who raised the most money in team support. “Bee” sure to see all of our participating teams in costume on our team wrap up page.
At the end of the day, this was a major fundraiser for our library which will directly support library operations. We sincerely thank all of the teams and volunteers who worked so hard to make this event possible, and a special THANK YOU to everyone who supported the event. We hope you had a wonderful time!
