Crawl O'Clock
Mondays from 10-11am

Join us at the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury for an hour of open ended play! Ideal for toddlers on the move, we’ll have a pop-up tunnel, soft climbing blocks, sensory tiles, shakers, scarves and more. Come for the whole hour, or drop in for just a few minutes to play, make friends, and have fun at your local library.

No registration necessary. See you soon!

Calling all knitters, crocheters, cross stitchers and anyone else who enjoys needlecrafts! This is a group for anyone interested in the fabric arts, no registration required.

We meet 2x a week, every Monday at 11 - 12:30pm and Thursday at 3 - 4:30pm.

Welcome to our celebrity readers from the New Hope-Solebury School District! Come hear stories read by teachers and staff from your public schools at the Free Library of New Hope & Solebury all summer long. Families: These storytimes are very popular and space is limited, so registration is required for each storytime in the Celebrity Reader Series.

College Essay Workshop Series
Free Library of New Hope & Solebury
Monday July 20th and Monday August 17th at 5:30pm

Calling all local teens preparing their college essays! Come to the Library for two free workshops to help brainstorm and organize your personal statements (aka the Common App Essay) for this fall's college application cycle. Run by Betsy Cartwright Kruse from Crossing College Consulting, these sessions will explain why the personal statement is so important and how it can be structured, offer continued brainstorming and ideas on how to organize, outline, and free write a first draft while refining, editing and sharing ideas. Registration greatly appreciated but not required for this program.

The Free Library of New Hope and Solebury is hosting a book discussion of London Falling: A Mysterious Death in a Gilded City and a Family's Search for Truth by Patrick Radden Keefe. All are welcome to attend! If you're unable to make it in person, but would like to attend virtually, please email jacobsone@buckslib.org.

Book Chat meets two Tuesdays a month at the NH-S Library. On the first Tuesday of every month, participants share what they've been reading and trade thoughts on future reads. On the third Tuesday of every month, a pre-chosen book is discussed.

No registration necessary. 

Welcome to Chess Class for Beginners, taught by our own volunteer Kabir! This is a free series of classes for completely new players, focusing on the fundamentals of play and designed to teach the delights of this ancient game to new students.

You MUST sign up for each class you wish to attend. Due to limited class size, we ask that you only sign up for the sessions you can make.

Grassroots Picnic Project
A weekly community picnic, run by the Free Library of New Hope & Solebury during Summer Reading
Tuesday Evenings from 6/16 through 8/18, 5-7pm on the NHS-SD practice field on Bridge Street, near the District Offices

This summer, pack a picnic, grab your friends, and gather with the Library!

We’ll have music, snacks, crafts, and a chance to talk about how to shape our community’s future. With different featured guests each week, we’ll hear from neighbors, organizers, elected officials and more about what they’re doing in our own backyard. And, importantly, they will hear from YOU! Part picnic, part workshop, all fun! Bring your ideas, your friends, and your enthusiasm - let’s build up our community toolkit to make real change at home.

PLUS: Lolly Hopwood's super popular Musical Evening Storytime will take place during the picnic at 5:30! This interactive story time is filled with imagination and movement that gets the families up and using their bodies and their minds. With props like parachutes, pom poms, scarves, bubbles, and puppets, these programs are a memorable time for the whole family. Please note that Lolly will not be at the Grassroots Picnic Project on 7/14 or 8/4.
